Lightest double strollers for newborn and toddler Stroller

When looking for a lightweight double-stroller that folds, the size and weight are crucial factors to consider. Choosing one that’s easy to maneuver and compact when not in use will make it easier to fit in the trunk of your car and navigate through airport gates and streets.

The most lightweight strollers have an easy, light fold and self-standing mechanism that helps reduce the strain on parents’ bodies. Many also come with a wide range of seating configurations and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.

Kolcraft Cloud Plus

The perfect product for families traveling. Lightweight and compact, with an easy fold with one hand. The front suspension and all-terrain wheel as well as the multi-position reclining seats can accommodate children weighing up to 50 pounds. The trays for parents and children, large storage basket, and a 3-tiered canopy with peekaboo window provide maximum sun protection.

The Cloud scored one of the lowest scores in our tests of quality because it has a flimsy seat made of hard plastic and a design which appears outdated. It’s also expensive compared to other strollers that are lighter which is why it’s not the best option when you’re looking for an economical option.

Although it’s not the lightest double stroller, it comes with enough features to be worth a look. Its swiveling wheels make easy to move it around flat surfaces. It also allows you to jump curbs without much effort. The low handle of the Cloud is a disadvantage however, as it’s at knee height, and not adjustable. It’s difficult to push while your legs are hanging in that way. And the absence of padding makes it even more difficult.

During testing, we found that the Cloud was easy to set up and open. It’s a bit more complicated to close, however. You need to slide a slider before you press a large white button to get it to collapse. This can be quite a hassle when you’re trying to keep your children entertained while doing it.

The Cloud comes with a small but deep storage basket that will fit a medium diaper bag. The basket is a bit narrow and you may have to put something in it to reach the back. The Cloud comes with two tray for parents and a child tray, each with two cup holders. However, both are too small for larger bottles or cups.

Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS

Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double stroller with a minimalist design that’s perfect for traveling. It’s super light at just 18lbs (lighter than many single strollers!) and can fold flat for easy transport and storage. It also features independently reclining seats and large all-weather SPF 50 sun visors with windows that peek out and extra-large under-seat storage bags. The visors can be adjusted to accommodate kids of different heights. Additionally, it comes with a one step linked parking brake that is Disney-sized approved.

The swivel wheel of the Jeep is also ideal for maneuvering over bumps and uneven terrain. This stroller does not accept car seats. Your child must be at minimum six months old and possess a strong neck control to use the front seat. The stroller has a three-panel sun canopy and each seat comes with a cupholder and snack tray.

Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend is a different incredibly light side by side stroller. It’s heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 pounds. However, it’s tinier and smaller (26.5 inches wide!) and comes with a lot of luxe features that make it perfect for travel. It folds up easily and is very mobile. It can easily fit into overhead compartments as well as trunks of airplanes.

Similar to the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double and Mountain Buggy Nano Duo, the Joovy Kooper X2 is another tri-fold ultralight double stroller. It’s pretty comparable to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS, but it has a few key distinctions. It’s also a little more expensive, but it has better maneuverability and has the largest sun canopy. It also comes with a handy carry strap and can hold children up to 44 pounds per seat.

Summer 3D Pac CS+ for infants

Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is a lightweight stroller with a lot of features. It’s not just light at 13 pounds but also offers plenty of storage space in the form of parent and child cup holders, a sippy cup for children pocket and a parent storage pocket and more. This stroller can also fit the car seat of a child and features a brake that flips. This stroller is designed to grow as your child grows. It can be transformed from a baby stroller to a toddler stroller simply by attaching car seat adapters (sold separately) and it’s suitable for children ages 6 months and up.

Another thing to take note of about this stroller is that it operates on swivel wheels, and doesn’t have locking options therefore it may not be the best option for rocky or sloping terrain. It’s still a good choice for most families, as it is easy to maneuver on pavements and other smooth surfaces.

This is among the most compact and lightweight double strollers that comes with full-size features. The quick-close feature lets the stroller to fold with just one hand and it’s compact enough to fit easily into your trunk or garage. It can be used as a stoller for travel and is compatible without adapters to most car seats.

Contrary to the majority of lightweight strollers unlike other strollers that are lightweight, the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ has two separate seats and can hold up to 50 lbs per seat (100 lbs total). The seats feature individual leg rests, as well as three-panel canopies with an open-top sunvisor and a peekaboo window.

The seats are cushioned to ensure the comfort of your child. They also have a 5-point safety harness which can be adjusted to three different height positions. Each seat comes with an infant cushion, which is ideal for babies. The cup holders for parent and child, the cellphone holders and the big storage basket will be adored by parents. The stroller can also be outfitted with the Yoyo+ Board, which turns it into an e-bike.

Joovy X2 Kooper

The Kooper X2 is an excellent option for parents looking for a stroller that is light and can accommodate two children. The sling-style seats are comfortable and offer a similar amount of headroom, which allows kids to sit together. The Kooper X2 is unique in that it comes with a completely reclining seat, which makes it a great option for nap time. Its recline feature is simple to use, but it’s not really flat. Taller children may have a leg hanging when in reclined positions. It also has a big canopy that we found to be more effective in blocking out sun than other strollers in our evaluation of the top double strollers.

The stroller is lightweight enough to to navigate through door frames. This was a major issue with other models we tried. It is easy to fold and the handlebars sit close to the ground. Its only drawback is the small storage space. When full of toys for kids it feels tight.

Joovy is a family-owned business that makes unique functional, high-quality and durable baby products. In our tests in the lab, we look at multiple factors to assess the ease of use of a double stroller. This includes the ease of use to fold and set up, how to adjust the safety harness and how to open and close the brakes. We also lift and carry the strollers in a similar manner like they would be placed in a trunk and how to put in and remove a baby car seat, if it is needed. We also assessed the durability and strength and also whether each model has a parent tray which can be used by both children.

The Joovy Kooper X2 earned the top rating for user-friendliness in our most recent update of the top cheap double stroller strollers guide, and one of the highest scores in our Strollers test program overall. Its user-friendly design features one-hand recline that is tilt-free with a huge canopy that can rotate forward to provide shade, a ventilation mesh that you can see through when it’s tilted. It also has individual child trays that have built-in cup holders, zipper pockets for parents, and an extra-large storage basket.
